The Tao of Resilience
7 Night Retreat, Pembrokeshire, Wales
May 29th – June 5th 2026

Set on the wild Pembrokeshire coast, this one week retreat offers the opportunity to realign with natural rhythms and strengthen our centres of resilience – in particular the regulation and balance of the endocrine (hormonal) and nervous system.

Join us in bridging the gap between our inner and outer landscape, drawing upon practices from qi gong, yoga and movement medicines from various traditions that build resilience and resource.

Life in the digital age can significantly impact overall health and vitality, particularly that of the endocrine and nervous system. The onslaught of pollution, tech radiation (emf’s), poor quality nutrition, pharmaceutical medication, social media and work/life demands can often leave us exhausted, disassociated and disconnected.

On this retreat we will explore what it means to create a robust healthy relationship with the reality of contemporary life through an approach that is responsive and adaptive in essence – in contrast to the habitual dumbing down, numbing and calcification against the challenges that we all face.

“The glands are the keystone between the organs and the nervous system and between the nervous system and the fluids.
They create crystalline psychophysical states through which we are able to experience and understand the universal aspect of self.

This is the system of internal stillness, surges or explosions of chaos/balance and the crystallization of energy into archetypal experiences.
The endocrine glands underlie intuition and the perceiving and understanding of the Universal Mind.”
Quote by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, pioneer and founder of Body, Mind, Centering

 During the retreat you will;
– gain a deeper understanding of the function of the endocrine system
– explore solar and lunar centred practices that help improve mood, inner equilibrium,  anxiety, stress and overwhelm
– learn how the vitality of the glandular system influences our quality of connection with all of life
– create and sustain a buffer to deal with the damaging effects of electro magnetic frequencies (emf), digital and visual overstimulation that disconnects us from nature
–  experience the nourishing benefits of good nutrition, time in peaceful surroundings and being in community

Collaboration
I will be leading this retreat with friend and colleague Rupert Johnson.
Rupert and I met on our Yoga teacher training in the early 2000’s and we have been teaching together on many projects ever since. We also continue to share our discoveries regularly through peer to peer practice sessions.
He has a rich background in martial arts, qi gong, yoga and shamanic practice. He also hosts regular sweat lodges and is a bodyworker that uses sound.
